Trousse de secours pour un mois de yoga en Inde
J’ai passé un mois dans un pays qui est bien connu pour son « Delhi belly » et avoir mal au ventre est la dernière chose qu’on souhaite quand on prévoit d’apprendre à se plier comme un bretzel. J'ai mes petites habitudes le matin quand je suis chez moi et je suis réglée comme une horloge. Si je rate une étape ça signifie généralement que je vais avoir mal au ventre toute la journée. Sachant ça, j’appréhendais beaucoup mon séjour en Inde car je savais que je devrai me plier à une toute autre routine et pratiquer 3h (2h d’asana et 1h de pranayama) avant le petit-déjeuner.
Ce que j’ai pris avec moi peut se classer en 4 groupes: énergie, digestion, douleurs et piqures d’insectes. Je vais vous lister ce qui m’a été utile mais notez que je ne suis ni médecin ni pharmacienne et que cette liste n’est en aucun cas une prescription. Demandez toujours conseil à votre pharmacien avant de prendre un médicament.
Energie
On pratiquait en moyenne 3h tous les jours mis à part le dimanche. En plus de ça, certains cours comme les cours d’alignement nécessitaient qu’on s’échauffe et qu’on tienne les poses. En clair, ce fut un mois très actif. Ajoutez à ça les températures (36 degrés en moyenne) et l’humidité, autant vous dire qu’on a beaucoup transpiré. Le changement de régime alimentaire peut également avoir un impact sur notre niveau d’énergie étant donné la quantité d’exercice qu’on fait tous les jours. Si vous avez l’habitude de manger des protéines animales vous sentirez peut-être une différence car le régime alimentaire à Sampoorna est exclusivement végétarien (ceci étant dit les plantes contiennent également des protéines et la cuisine Indienne utilise beaucoup de lentilles et haricots). Magnesium & calciumComme je l’ai mentionné dans le paragraphe précédent, vous allez beaucoup transpirer. Transpirer n’est pas nécessairement une mauvaise chose mais vous devez faire bien attention à rester hydraté, et à assimiler tous les minéraux dont votre corps a besoin, à commencer par le calcium. Le calcium est utilisé par votre corps quand vous contractez vos muscles; il aide la myosine et l’actine à se lier. Par ailleurs, le magnésium aide vos muscles à se relaxer (car il bloque le calcium). C’est pourquoi le manque de magnésium provoque généralement des crampes.
Digestion
J'avais très peur des problèmes de digestion. Dans un sens comme dans l'autre, ils peuvent gâcher la vie. Je ne peux même pas imaginer l’horreur que ç’aurait été si j’avais eu des problèmes de digestion pendant ma formation.
Prévention: ultra-levure 200mgL'ultra-levure est en quelque sorte l’ancêtre des pro-biotiques. C'est principalement utilisé en cas de diarrhée mais ça peut également être pris de façon préventive. C’est ma pharmacienne qui m’a recommandé de prendre de l’ultra-levure en préventif de façon à ce que mon système digestif puisse s’adapter sans problème au changement de régime alimentaire. Je ne peux pas vous dire si ça a fonctionné mais ce qui est certain c’est que je n’ai pas été malade du tout.
DiarrhéeJ’ai eu la chance de n’avoir souffert d’aucun empoisonnement alimentaire du à la nourriture ou à l’eau. Mais certains de mes camarades un peu plus aventuriers - ou inconscients - qui sont allés tester des restaurants en dehors de Sampoorna se souviennent encore que les standards d’hygiène en cuisine ne sont pas nécessairement les mêmes partout en Inde! J’avais pris avec moi de l’Imodium, du Smecta et du Nifuroxazide. L'Imodium stoppe la diarrhée (mais a tendance à constiper donc soyez prudents!). Le Smecta agit comme un pansement pour votre estomac et prévient les crampes. Le Nifuroxazide est un antibiotique. Ce qui signifie qu’il ne doit être pris qu’en cas d'infection.
ConstipationCroyez-le ou pas, plus de personnes ont souffert de constipation que de diarrhée! Etant donnée que la nourriture à Sampoorna était délicieuse et qu’on nous fournissait de l’eau filtrée, les gens qui ne mangeaient qu’au centre comme moi ne sont pas tombés malade. En revanche, les plats indiens sont tous à base de riz. J’ai été surprise de constater que la plupart des gens ne savent pas que le riz constipe. C’est d’ailleurs pourquoi on nous dit de manger du riz blanc quand on souffre de diarrhée: de la même façon que le riz absorbe l’eau de votre iPhone quand vous le faites tomber dans les WC (on l’a tous fait), il absorbe l’eau dans vos intestins. Et la déshydratation entraine la constipation. J’avais pris avec moi quelques sachets de Transipeg, qui aide à faire en sorte que l’eau reste dans le colon.
CharbonEt enfin: les gélules de charbon. Elles peuvent être très pratiques quand on pratique le yoga et qu’on mange beaucoup de légumes comme des lentilles, des haricots, du choux ou des onions… Je pense que je n’ai pas besoin de vous faire un dessin.
Douleurs
Vu que vous allez pratiquer plusieurs fois par jour tous les jours, il y a de grandes chances que vous ressentiez des courbatures à un moment donné. La bonne nouvelle c’est qu’il est plutôt simple et bon marché de se faire masser en Inde, ce qui vous évitera de marcher comme un cowboy le lendemain d’une pratique intense. Mais ce qui risque d’arriver également une fois que la fatigue s’installe, c’est la blessure.
Baume du tigreSans surprise, vous pourrez très facilement trouver du baume du tigre, même à Agonda. Donc ne paniquez pas si vous avez oublié le vôtre sur votre table de chevet. Je m’en suis servi pour masser mon genou quelques fois avant d’aller me coucher, et mon amie Elizabeth m’a appris que c’est également très efficace de s’en appliquer sur les tempes et les sinus en cas de migraine.
Patchs chauffantsLes patch chauffants sont très similaires au baume du tigre à ça près qu’ils restent collés à la zone douloureuse et produisent une sensation de chaleur - et donc de la décontraction - en continue pendant 8 heures. La première fois que j’en ai utilisé c’était sur mon trapèze droit après avoir fait un bench press dans une mauvaise position et ça m’a littéralement sauvé la vie. À Sampoorna j’en ai donné un à mon amie Pim qui s’était fait le même type de blessure pendant un cours et elle m’a dit que ça lui avait permis de dormir, ce qui fait une grosse différence quand on suit un agenda aussi chargé.
Piqures d'insectes
Anti-moustiquePrenez-en 2. Et pas vos anti-moustiques conventionnels. Choisissez un spécial jungle! Et soyez prêts à vous asperger toutes les heures aussitôt que le soleil se couche (et durant les 2 premières heures de pratique du matin) sinon quoi vous serez tout de même piqués. Au départ j’utilisais un spray qu’on trouve en grandes surfaces car je voulais terminer ma bouteille avant d’en acheter une nouvelle, et j’ai été piquée sur la fesse quasi instantanément - pendant happy baby, c’est vraiment pas cool! - par un moustique de la taille d’une libellule. Avec le spray spécial jungle j’ai vu un moustique faire littéralement demi-tour quand il s’est approché à 10cm de ma jambe. J’avais également une prise anti-moustique dans ma chambre. Tout ce que je peux dire c’est que je n’ai pas vu un seul insecte dans ma chambre durant tout le séjour...
Roll-on d’apaisement des piquresParce que vous n’éviterez pas les piqures de moustique de toutes façons, je vous recommande d’apporter un roll-on pour apaiser les démangeaisons. J’ai découvert celui-ci pendant mes dernières vacances en Corse - c’est à base d’huiles essentielles et ça sent super bon.
Crème antihistaminiqueJ’ai parlé plus haut de la taille des moustiques mais sans vouloir vous effrayer, les moustiques ne sont pas les seuls animaux que vous rencontrerez en Inde qui sont bien plus gros que la normale. Les araignées et les fourmis semblent aussi être sous stéroïdes. C’est plus prudent d’emmener une crème antihistaminique avec vous car on ne sait jamais comment son corps répondra à une piqure d’un insecte de la jungle.

Hello ! Alors, j'avais pris des barres avec moi au cas ou (j'imagine qu'on a du lire les mêmes articles ;) ) mais au final je n'en ai pas eu besoin. Après, même si j'adore prendre mon petit déjeuner, je n'ai jamais de problème à faire une activité physique avant de petit-déjeuner, mais je sais que certaines personnes peuvent faire des crises d'hypoglycémie si elles ne petit-déjeunent pas. Donc je dirais que c'est à toi de voir car il faut pouvoir tenir 2h d'ashtanga avec le ventre vide. Moi au final je préférais mille fois attendre les repas servis à Sampoorna (un délice à chaque fois) plutôt que de manger une barre protéinée.
